Today's walk included the northwest corner of the U District and the southeast corner of the Ravenna Neighborhood. Walking near I-5, I spotted this mural. A version of it has been on this house for as long as I can remember. Vandals once defaced it but the homeowner had it restored.

This mural is painted on a shed beside the house.

Abutting I-5, there is a new house with a really nice stand of trees.

This majestic stone and log house is on 8th Avenue.
I could tell I was in an older part of town when I came across this tile street marker in the sidewalk.
Out on Roosevelt, this mural is painted on the side of a Vegan Craft Pizzeria ...

... and A Taste of India has to warn customers not to park in the bike lane. Between the bike lane and the bus stop islands, Roosevelt Avenue has really been put on the road diet.

West of Roosevelt and close to I-5, many of the streets are tree-lined and ...

... have space to grow vegetables ...

... and flowers.
Closer to Roosevelt Avenue and the new light rail station, there are more apartment houses plus new and proposed construction. It looks as if a 25-story apartment house will go up where a close business now stands and that Cedars Restaurant will be replaced by a 6-story apartment house.

On this 6 mile walk, I passed the Ravenna-Cowen North National Historic District, Laughs Comedy Club, the U District Uber Eats, the Trading Musician (yes, it's still there), a Morman Temple, Blessed Sacrament Church, University Child Development Center, University Playfield, an Armed Forces Career Center, the University Branch of the Seattle Public Library, the University Y, Fire Station No. 17, ...

,,, and Fergite Alley. It was just an ordinary alley but I don't usually see street signs for small alleys.

I also noted a side yard with three giant coffee mugs.

I only spotted one Little Free Library; it contained mostly inspirational and children's books.
