Lots of Apodments and Micro Studios on today's walk in the U District.

Across 7th Avenue NE from these newer small units, I spotted a homeless encampment with trash bins, port-a-potties and a sink.

No new buildings on Pasadena Place NE. It abuts I-5 and appears to be a popular parking spot but I did notice one car with its passenger side window smashed - don't think I would park here.

The area has not been fully redeveloped and it's still possible to find some tree-lined spaces.

Near the University Bridge, I admired the Sadako and the Thousand Cranes sculpture in Peace Park. I have never passed this sculpture when it wasn't adorned with paper cranes.
Over on Roosevelt, just south or Portage Bay Cafe, resides the Portage Bay Grange Express Pickup facility - an urban farm supply service.

The Grange location would be handy for users of the nearby University District P-Patch, nestled in among high-rise buildings.

Anhalt Hall, a City of Seattle Landmark, sits at 43rd and 7th. During the construction of I-5, it was moved to this lot from its original location two blocks away.
During this 4.5 mile walk, I stopped at Artist and Craftsman (thank goodness the U District still has an art supply store - the University Book Store is not what it once was), I smelled beer outside Lad & Lass Brewing, I saw a fireman being interviewed (on camera) concerning a fire at the Tiny House Village at 45th and Roosevelt, ...

... I admired murals on the Blue Moon Tavern and ...
... the old Meany Hotel - now the Graduate, ...

... and passed Christie Park and the Jack Straw Cultural Center, two theaters (AMC and the Neptune), ...

... and a building under construction which had a sample of what the building facade would be. There appeared to be some luxury buildings going up near Roosevelt and 47th.

Free parking appears to be disappearing.

During my last few walks, I have come across quite a few people on electric scooters. When there are bike lanes on the street, I know to avoid them. When there are no bike lanes, the riders have been using the sidewalk and I try to get out of their way quickly - especially if they are riding downhill. Not sure which is growing faster, scooter usage or H Mart numbers.
