Today's walk took me to the Bryant neighborhood with some extension into Laurelhurst.

Starting out at the lovely grounds of the Burke Gilman Apartments, I noted that the playground had been dug up " to create an accessible, inclusive, nature-based park space where people of all ages, abilities and identities can find play and peace."

Crossing Sand Point Way and entering a section of Laaurelhurst very close to Children's Hospital, I noted a number of proposed land use action signs indicating that a house would be replaced five townhouses. This appeared to have already happened on may lots.

Walking west on 50th, I passed Ronald McDonald House and ...

... came to staircases up to the Burke Gilman Trail and then to 39th Avenue. I zigged and zagged through the lovely streets from 35th to 40th Avenues between 50th and 55th Streets.

Along 35th, I admired the beautiful row of trees in front of Calvary Cemetery. I remember when the saplings were planted as an Eagle Scout project about 25 years ago. I have seen Little Free Library Eagle Scout Projects but nothing that compares to this.

Heading back to 40th Avenue, I walked south to Children's, then east on 45th Street, noting the new "Friends of Costco" building and the "Nordstrom and Gittinger Families" building before coming to some beautiful gardens.

Continuing south and west along Sand Point Way, I passed a Gadget Rehab store and the huge new Aegis Living facility under construction ...
... before coming to the Safeway which will be replaced by three new apartment buildings with 796 units. Two of the buildings will be seven-story and one will be eight-story with retail. Walking back north and east along Sand Point Way, I noted that the lot which now houses a Mexican food truck will be home a six-story apartment building with 69 units, retail and medical services.

I spotted this entry to the Burke Gilman Trail.
On this 5.5 mile walk, I passed four Little Free Libraries. They contained books by Julie Otsuka, books about Washington Golf Courses, Western Birds, getting organized, relaxation, stress reduction and scholastic success.
