A friend and I started today's walk by climbing the colorful staircase at 95th and Lake City Way.Stairs took us to 20th where we saw this sculpture just south of Sacajawea School.
Zigging and zagging we entered Thornton Creek Park at 98th west of Lake City Way. We crossed the creek via a bridge and came out near 20th and 100th. Walking north and west, we came to an entry to the Kingfisher Natural Area on Thornton Creek at 104th and 17th.
Stairs led us down hill and we walked along narrow but groomed trails and ...... crossed the creek, this time on using stones placed across the water. Exiting at 100th and 17th, we continued north and west looking at the ends of dead-end streets for more entries to the park. We found only one possible entry and it was quite steep so we didn't attempt it.
More zigging and zagging took us to this Henry mural painted on the side and back of the ...
... Maple Leaf Music Space at 100th and 12th.
From there, we wound our way back to our starting point. Along our hilly 7 mile walk, we passed one Little Free Bakery (it was empty and padlocked) and five Little Free Libraries. They contained magazines, children's books, science fiction, nonfiction, books by J. A. Jance, Tolkien, and Malcolm Gladwell, as well as books about getting a student organized, El Centro de la Raza, and fishing.
