Two beautiful Monkey Tail trees greeted me in Maple Leaf this morning.
More trees made 12th Avenue feel compact and cool as I walked from 94th to 89th. There were quite a few walkers and dog walkers on this street which feels much different from 15th.
I remembered this guy from a prior walk years ago ...
... and admired this house which is so tidy ....
... that even the sidewalk cracks are artistically repaired.
On other streets homes are being replaced.
Out on Lake City Way, the trailer park has been replaced by new housing, ...
... there are new sidewalks in spots, the storage facility, Pandora's and The Shanty Tavern are still there as is the 7-Eleven and the Eagles Lodge but Cooper's Alehouse has closed after 38 years. There is a large vacant lot just north of the Eagles building; an old used car lot is empty.
This 4 mile walk was not the most scenic but I did pass five Little Free Libraries. One contained only food; the rest contained children's books, novels, books in Spanish and French and serious nonfiction books.
