Today's walk in Olympic Heights reminded me that Spring is here. I noted blooming trees bigger than the houses behind them, as well as azaleas, rhododendrons, tulips, daffodils and lilac in full color. My walk started at the QFC at 145th Street and 15th Avenue NE. Across 15th, it seems that the building which once housed a Washington State Liquor Store is now a marijuana dispensary which will soon be replaced by an eight-story apartment building.

Walking south on 15th, I passed Northgate Gospel Chapel, some interesting tree trunks, upscale condominium complexes ...
... and Jackson Park Golf Course. I continued south to 135th Street then turned east. Walking east and north from here, I found myself in a quiet neighborhood of mostly modest homes on nice sized lots.
Most streets had sidewalks (on at least one side) but not curbs. There were plenty of open drainage ditches. There was an area with cinderblock homes - mostly really well maintained.
Pride of ownership and gardening skills were evident.

Some streets had large trees and others almost no trees.  Some tress had survived butchering to accommodate overhead wires.

Along the way, I spied a few tree swings. The sign on this bicycle requested that the swings be returned to their original position after use.

Yard art, a stork cutout announcing a baby's arrival, two Norwegian flags, a few large grassy expanses and this old street lamp added to my walking pleasure.

I only spotted one Little Free Library on my 4.5 mile walk. It contained children's books.
