Today's walk started in the Roosevelt neighborhood and crossed into the Maple Leaf neighborhood. I don't know where one begins and the other ends. Neighborhood maps show an overlap. I walked from NE 80th to NE 92nd Street between 1st and 5th Avenues NE. The lots appeared larger in the northern section but more tailored in the southern section.

At any rate, I came across trees planted in swags ...

...

... and quite a few palm trees, mostly planted in front yards.

I also admired a few large hedges ...

... and some very tidy streets.

Not all streets were tidy, however. NE 92nd Street could use some love ...
... and despite the barrier wall along 1st Avenue NE, the I-5 traffic noise was ever present. I heard it during the entire walk but the closer to I-5 I got, the louder it was.

Latona and 4th Avenues seemed to disappear or dead end at times and I found this foot path connecting two sections of Latona between 88 and 89th Streets.

Homeowners showed some whimsey ...

...

... in their front gardens.

Along this 5.5 mile walk, I spotted a basket of free softballs, a USPS mail box, a sign posted by an enterprising Girl Scout providing a QR code to order cookies, Banner Way Triangle Park, a house flying an Irish flag (St, Patrick's Day is almost here) and a few shops on 5th Avenue (one with a list of Irish Week activities posted in its window). I also passed nine Little Free Libraries offering a wide variety of options.
