After taking a month off for the holidays and the icy walking conditions, my husband and I went for a short (just over two mile) walk in the View Ridge neighborhood this morning.  We passed along streets between 42nd and 50th Avenues NE  from NE 70th to 75th Street.

This area is dominated by the tidy and, even on this drizzly morning, well used View Ridge Playfield ...

.. and View Ridge Elementary School ...

... with its generous outdoor properties.

We had walked up the hill from View Ridge Playfield to the school grounds. The avenues appeared to crest between 49th and 50th before dropping back down towards Lake Washington.

This neighborhood has not changed too much; it still has sidewalks, curbs and underground utilities. Homes are still well kept. Perhaps the biggest visible change might be the number of second story additions to once modest homes.

Along the way, we passed the Sand Point Community United Methodist Church. The church grounds are host to a Little Free Pantry and a Little Free Library with an assortment of books and magazines.
We experienced both rain and sun on this quiet walk.
