The past few days of dog-sitting had me walking streets I had already revisited and made me much more aware of all the rocks and smells in my neighborhood.

However, change can occur quickly and I spotted some new totem poles being carved from tree stumps.

Today, my husband and I were in the QFC strip mall at NE 145th and 15th NE so we decided to take a short walk in the surrounding neighborhood. It looked as if the QFC and adjoining Dollar Tree had been freshly painted a stark white. It also seemed that Dollar Tree should now be named Dollar and a Quarter Tree.

Walking to 143rd, we came upon Noble Firs Condos which looked as tidy as they had 12 years ago. Proceeding east and south, we entered an area of single family homes.
The most impressive features of this area were the trees. Some were quite tall, ...

... some were changing color ...

... and some were dramatic. There were many trees.

The generous lot sizes and a few curved streets added nicely to this mostly modest neighborhood.

The closer we came to 145th, the more dense the housing became.

Our walk was short, not much more than a mile, but it was nice to see all those trees.
