My husband and I had chores in Wedgwood today so we decided to take a short walk along the streets north and east of NE 75th and 35th NE. I had already revisited 35th NE so I won't repeat the shops located at this intersection.
Winding our way back to 75th and 35th, we decided to walk through the grounds of Wedgwood Estates. We were surprised to find a pool and small playground as well as a collection of chairs set out under a tree.
I did notice the Online Order Pickup parking spots in the Safeway parking lot. This is new since Covid and appears to have continued.
Walking east on 75th, we passed the Wedgwood Estates Apartments. They looked to have been freshly painted.
At 39th, it looked as if the bike lane ended until we noticed the arrow indicating that it turned onto 39th.As we approached 45th, we spotted one of the longest laurel hedges I have ever seen. As we turned north onto 45th, Sand Point Country Club was east of us.Turning west onto 77th, we were treated to some great fall colors.Still on 77th, we walked through a wonderland of shrubbery, ...
... spied a fairy door and ...
... walked under some beautiful trees beside Thornton Creek Elementary.
Turning north on 36th, we walked behind the Post Office and came to Hunter Tree Farm's lot. A sign on the fence welcomed us to this space which Hunter Farms makes available as a community gathering place. Wedgwood Presbyterian Church is across 80th; I hear that it makes its outdoor space available for pickleball. This sport seems to have gotten even more popular than it was 12 years ago.Winding our way back to 75th and 35th, we decided to walk through the grounds of Wedgwood Estates. We were surprised to find a pool and small playground as well as a collection of chairs set out under a tree.
Before finishing our walk, we noted a new "Dump No Waste" logo.
Along the way, we passed one combination Little Free Library/Little Free Pantry. The library contained a few books for adults, one for elementary school aged readers and one in an Asian language. Our walk was short, under two miles, but it put me over 100 miles for this blog.
