Today's walk started among the majestic older homes of Capitol Hill. I joined a walk-along fundraiser which did not allow me to walk into the parks we passed but I will return. Our zigzag path led us around this traffic circle which had a dedication plaque naming it Kayrl's Garden. We wound our way to 15th Avenue E where we spotted Volunteer Park - it would have been a great day to visit.
Heading north, we passed an Open House at a townhouse development. I guess my assumption that all large, old Capitol Hill houses would be remodeled - not replaced - was incorrect.
North of Volunteer Park, we passed Lake View Cemetery on the west ...... and Louisa Boren Lookout on the east.
Further north, Seattle Prep appears to have expanded in the last 12 years.
At 10th Avenue E, we crossed I-5.
Our walk wasn't much longer than a mile and was mostly downhill. We ended at Roanoke Park and Saint Patrick Church (now closed and merged with Saint Joseph Church).
Along this route, we passed one Little Free Library which contained one children's book and one novel.
