Today's walk included bus and light rail rides. My husband and I decided to have lunch at Freeway Park, assuming that we would be entertained by buskers and that we could scope out the books for sale at the book carts. No buskers showed up today but I did buy a book and ...
... we did enjoy our liverwurst sandwiches from ...
... George's Deli on Madison.Across from the park, Town Hall is still there but ...
... its parking lot now houses tall towers ...
... and an inviting stepped plaza.
On Madison, we noted that Vito's is gone and it looks as if its building will be demolished soon.
We wondered who and what were in all the new buildings ...
... and had to strain our necks looking up at this building as we walked through Freeway Park to the Convention Center. We had hope to go inside the new addition but it had been booked by Amazon and we were told we would not be allowed in.
We walked down to 1st Avenue where we admired a new mural ......and visited the always interesting Army Navy Surplus Store.I told my husband he was poetry in motion as we puzzled over this sidewalk message on 1st between Lenora and Virginia.
We had spotted a new PCC Market on our walk and hope it prospers.
Our 4 mile walk included ...... walking to and from the bus and from the bus to the light rail. The bus ride on the Metro 75 was pleasant (even if very bumpy) with not too many midday passengers. The light rail to downtown was packed with fans going to a Mariners game. I wore my mask!
